Aragon turns to export

At least that's the intention of Government of Aragon which intends that the region's exports add up 9.000 € million which has been made explicit in the statements of economist Enrique Barbero in number 44 of the magazine "Aragonese Economy" which is edited by IBERCAJA.

In this magazine, and in the aforementioned issue, a monographic study on the Spanish labor market and the ICT penetration in Aragon. Finally, in this issue and doing an extrapolation exercise, we also talk about the outlook that the region's economy will have in 2020.

Barbero also commented at a press conference that exports have become one of the engines of the Aragonese economy generating the dynamization of it. At the same time, the fall that has been produced in Aragon from the construction and in the consumption of all kinds of goods.

The export data for the first quarter of this 2011 suggest that during 2011 there will be sold abroad for € 2.500 million, a very large figure even for a developed economy such as Aragonese. What still remains in the pipeline, always according to Barbero, is the creation of employment since there are currently in the region 92.500 unemployed.

Macroeconomic data suggest that the exit from the crisis in Aragon will be much faster than in the rest of the state, since its level of indebtedness is only 145% of GDP and the public debt in the autonomous community does not reach 9%, while the average for the rest of the state is almost 11%.
