The first thing you should know is that you must prepare to be able to pass the oppositions to be able to access these jobs. The Civil Guard is a privileged institution that is part of the Spanish army and it is one of the state security bodies and forces that ensure the safety and compliance with the law of all citizens. And since it is a body of the Spanish state, it is necessary to pass some examinations to be able to access the body.

What are the requirements that you must take into account?
In order to be a Civil Guard you will need to have a series of requirements, otherwise it is not necessary for you to start studying because you will not be able to be a Civil Guard. But do not be discouraged because surely you meet them all. The requirements are as follows:
- You have to be Spanish.
- You must be between 18 and 29 years old.
- If you are men you must measure at least 1 meters and if you are a woman 70 meters.
- You must prove good citizen behavior.
- You cannot be deprived of civil rights.
- You should not have any type of conviction or be convicted.
- You must have a class B driving license (which was previously known as B1).
- Before the first test, you must possess or be capable of possessing: the title of ESO (Compulsory Secondary Education), specific intermediate level FP (Professional Training), 2nd BUP, first degree FP or equivalent.
- You must not have acquired the status of conscientious objector.
- Not having tattoos that contain expressions or images contrary to constitutional values, authorities or military virtues.
What are the tests in the Civil Guard competitions?
The civil guard tests will not only be intellectual, they will also be physical and personal. To be able to work in the Civil Guard you will have to master quite a few fields and thus be able to defend yourself when you are inside the body. You must add points to be able to win positions, but if you fail the tests you will be able to present yourself to future calls but without being able to recover the points earned, you must start from scratch. You will have to perform the following tests:
- Spelling test. In this test you must know how to write the words correctly as well as know synonyms and antonyms of each of them. It lasts 10 minutes and you can only make 11 mistakes.
- Knowledge test. It is a 100-question questionnaire that is extracted from the 25-topic syllabus. It lasts an hour and a half and it takes 25 points to pass.
- Foreign language test. You will have to test yourself in English or French with a test of 20 questions that will last 20 minutes. This test is not eliminatory.
- Psychotechnical test. This test is used to know if you can adapt to the necessary demands and will assess your intellectual aptitudes and your personality profile.
- Physical tests. To be able to enter the Civil Guard you will need to be fit and pass the physical tests. There are 4 tests qualified as suitable or not suitable, they consist of the speed test, the endurance test, push-ups and swimming.
- Personal interview. In this part of the competition, the psychotechnical results will be contrasted and the candidate will be evaluated to see if he could really fulfill the competencies or if he has the necessary qualities to be able to fill the position to which he aspires in those oppositions.
- Medical examination.
Extra points can be obtained
In order to be able to tie possible candidates with the same score obtained in the different tests explained above, there will also be the possibility of obtaining extra points to have more or less chances of aspiring to the Civil Guard position once all the qualifications have been approved. tests. Extra points can be obtained if the following requirements are met:
- Have completed military service: 1 point
- For each year of service in the General State Administration: 1 point
- Possess a C or D driving license: 2 points
- Possess the Baccalaureate Degree: 3 points
- Possess the title of Superior Technician or Specialist Technician: 4 points
- Possess the C + E, D + E driving license: 4 points
- Possess a driving license A: 4 points
- Possess a university degree (diploma): 6 points
- Possess a university degree (bachelor's degree): 8 points
- Possess a Degree from the Official School of Languages or accreditation of a linguistic profile of English, French or German: from 4 to 8 points
- For having served in the army: as an officer, 10 points; noncommissioned officer, 6 points; troops and sailors, 2 points.
