Active employment policies suffer a cut of 21%

The crisis has also come in the form of cuts to active employment policies, which during this year 2012 will fall by 21%. In addition, the executive of Mariano Rajoy will pay 5,4% less unemployment benefits and 34% of the budget dedicated to training.

In numbers, the budget for active employment policies in 2012 will be 7.764,7 € million which supposes that a 21% less than in 2011. The justification for this decrease in the money allocated to unemployed find a job it is the reduction of the public deficit that has been indicated by Brussels.

Breaking down the budget for active employment policies we find that 3.330,9 € million are dedicated to labor insertion policies and promotion of hiring labor. Within this item the most important amount - € 3.330,89 million - will be allocated to the reduction of social security contributions in the hiring of unemployed workers.

This year the subsidies for training programs for Vocational Training for Employment will add 1.811,82 € million which is 34,4% less than in 2011. Of this total amount, € 665,52 million will be used directly for the training of unemployed and 894,8 million for the professional retraining of employed workers. The decrease in the budget for continuous training is produced by the sharp decrease in the income from the contributions of workers for training.
