The functions
The officials of the Facultative Corps of Penitentiary Health have competences and functions in their specialty that are included in article 288 of Royal Decree 120/1981, of May 8, which approved the Penitentiary Regulations. The functions are:
- Recognize all inmates upon entering the prison in order to discover whether or not there are possible physical or mental illnesses and to be able to take the necessary measures if appropriate.
- Ensure the physical and mental health of the inmates.

- Report the news to the director of the penitentiary.
- Comply with the preventive campaigns organized by the health authorities.

- Organize and monitor hygiene services.
- To record the state of health of the articles in the commissary of the penitentiary establishment.
What degree is required?
If you want to apply for this call you will have to have the Bachelor of Medicine or Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree or the title that enables the exercise of this regulated profession, as established by the Community Directives, and also be having the title of specialist doctor in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
Likewise, people who hold certifications that enable them to perform the functions of a general practitioner in the National Health System will be admitted to the call, in accordance with the provisions of article 1.b) of Royal Decree 853/1993, of June 4, as well as those who possess any other of the titles, certificates or diplomas provided for in sections c and d of said article.
If the degrees have been obtained abroad, you must have the respective credential that proves the homologation or validation.
Enrollment in selective tests

You will have to fill in the form 790 in accordance with the rules of the call, generate the document in PDF and print the 4 pages, pay the corresponding fees in a collaborating Financial Institution and submit sheets 1 and 2 of the application together with the complementary documentation in any accredited Registry Office.
