Colored markers yes or no?

Colored markers for studying

Although I am 33 years old today, I continue to study, this time oppositions,… A task, that those who are in the same situation as me, will know that all advice is little to save time, not to lose motivation and to assimilate the more content the better.

It is for this reason, because I have been studying almost all my life, that I have gradually realized what my best study technique is, what is the process that I must follow to memorize better and how I have to make my diagrams and summaries so that it is easier for me to assimilate concepts. However, this varies greatly from person to person.

So, the question I ask you is: Colored markers yes or no? By colored markers I mean the typical ones highlighters or highlighters, colored pens and normal markers. As you already know, I suppose, we use these markers to highlight the most important of each topic, to write down the most important ideas and above all, to make the study more enjoyable and not so monotonous.

However, despite this last indication, there are many students who reject these markers. Its main reason for this is that it is quite distracting from the objective itself, which is to study. What do you think? Do you use the markers normally or do you leave them only for underlining and not for taking notes? I, for example, do use them and in addition to all the previous indications that I have given you, I also use them to relate concepts with colors ...

If you still don't know if using colored markers helps you study and you want to try it, I recommend using the following colors:

  • Yellow to underline in general terms.
  • RED for those notes that refer to issues related to legislation.
  • Pink for authors and / or dates.
  • Verde for definitions.

These are my 4 favorite colors to study. And you, do you have yours?
