Judge? .. Maybe it's complicated

If there is an opposition that has the reputation of being the toughest and the most complicated, being almost impossible to obtain a place, the winner would be the one established to fill a position as Judge.

The Judge is an official who serves for the Administration of Justice, resolving controversies and deciding the fate that each defendant will have for crimes or, where appropriate, the misdemeanors he has committed.. I will remember that, in the system established by the Penal Code (LO 10/1995), committing 3 offenses in a period of less than one year is equivalent, for purposes, to a crime punishable by the penalty related to the crime of major offense.

In order to compete for Judge, it is necessary, of course, to have the Bachelor of Law degree. After that, it would be time to study to sit for these oppositions, made up of the following subjects, according to the approved program in the BOE of March 18, 2008, referring to filling a position as a Judge (group A):

  • Constitutional law (31 topics)
  • Civil Law (98 topics).
  • Criminal Law (62 topics).
  • Civil Procedural Law (62 topics).
  • Criminal Procedural Law (37 topics).
  • Commercial Law (33 topics).
  • Administrative and Labor Law (37 topics).

The exercises are as follows:

  1. First exercise: answer a questionnaire-test on the topics of Constitutional Law, Civil Law, Criminal Law, Civil and Criminal Procedural Law.
  2. Second exercise: It will consist of orally presenting before the Court five topics of the following matters: one Constitutional Law, two Civil Law, and two of Criminal Law, in a maximum time of 75 minutes.
  3. Third exercise: It will consist of orally presenting before the Court five topics on the following subjects: two on Civil Procedural Law, one on Criminal Procedural Law, one on Commercial Law, and one on Administrative or Labor Law. The time for this test is 75 minutes maximum.

What? Is there courage to start? If you are into it, from here we send you all the encouragement in the world and we really admire your bravery.
