Requirements to present

According to current legislation Royal Decree 614/1995, of April 21, published in the Official State Gazette number 118, of May 18, which regulates the selective processes of Admission to the National Police, and in accordance with Organic Law 9 / 2015, of July 28, of the National Police Personnel Regime, in order to be admitted to the practice of selective tests to applicants for a position as a police officer, it will be necessary to meet, by the end of the submission period of applications, the following requirements:

  • Having the Spanish nationality.
  • Having turned 18 years old and not exceed the maximum retirement age.
  • Not having been convicted of a malicious crime, nor separated from the service of the State, the Autonomous, Local or Institutional Administration, nor be disqualified from the exercise of public functions.
  • Not be included in any of the causes of physical or mental exclusion that impede or impair the functional or operational capacity necessary for the performance of the tasks of the National Police that are established in Annex III of this call.
  • Commitment to bear arms and, where appropriate, get to use them, which will be provided through the applicant's statement.
  • Having an minimum stature 1,65 meters for men and 1,60 for women.
  • Be in possession of the class B driving license.

Evidence of opposition to the National Police

This opposition consists of a total of four tests:

  • Physical: It consists of performing various physical exercises. Obtaining zero points in any of them supposes the elimination of the applicant.
  • Knowledge test. It will consist of three exercises:
  1. Written answer in fifty minutes to a questionnaire of one hundred questions, with a statement and three alternative answers of which only one is true, related to the agenda. Errors are penalized, according to the following formula: A - [E / (n-1)], where "A" is the number of hits, "E" is the number of errors, and "n" is the number of response alternatives.
  2. Written and oral exercise of the French or English languages ​​at the Baccalaureate level. The writing, for which the opponents will have forty minutes, will consist of the comprehension and grammatical knowledge of a text in the chosen language and oral in a conversation in the same language.
  3. Written resolution in ninety minutes of a case or cases in which the subjects on the agenda must be interrelated. It consists of two parts:
  • Psychotechnical test. Carrying out one or more tests aimed at determining the personality and aptitudes of the applicant for the performance of the police function in relation to the category to which it is aspired. Includes a spelling test.
  • Personal interview. From the result of the personality tests, the factors of the same determined by the court will be investigated in the applicant.

Both parties are assessed jointly and the court sets the minimum score necessary to pass each one of them, making public the list of applicants who, having achieved at least the indicated scores, must be summoned to take the fourth test.

  • Medical examination. To carry out this test, the medical techniques of conventional use that are deemed appropriate are applied, including blood and urine analysis.
