Requirements to enter the military

There are people who since childhood are interested in everything related to the army or the military ... they know that when they grow up, they want to dedicate themselves to this almost without knowing how to do it as they grow. Every year the Spanish army demands specialized professionals, but to be in the military… you have to have a vocation and want to be one! Enter the army

There are some requirements that are essential to be able to enter the military. The ones that you will see below are the most general requirements, but later, depending on the category you want to take part in, they will have more specific and concrete requirements. But as a general rule, the following requirements are global for all areas:

• Have Spanish nationality
• Not be deprived of civil rights
• Not having a criminal record
• Be 18 years of age (or meet them in the year of the call)
• To participate in the General Corps and Marine Corps (without prior qualification) you must not be 21 years old
• In the Military Health Corps (without previous qualifications) there is no maximum age limit
• For admission by promotion (without a previous university degree), for the General Corps and the Marine Corps, the 31 years must not be met or have met in the year in which the corresponding call is published.
• For the Scale of Military Health Corps Officers, (without prior university degree qualification) the 27 years must not be met or have met in the year in which the corresponding call is published.
• You cannot have tattoos that have expressions or images contrary to institutional values.
• Neither are tattoos or any body modification that may be visible on the uniforms of the Armed Forces allowed.

What qualifications do you need?

The qualifications that you will need to enter the army and enjoy your job in the Armed Forces will depend above all on the position you want to access. You will not require the same qualification for the land corps, as for the military health corps or to access troops and sailors.

When you have met the requirements and have the required qualification, you will have to pass the entrance tests. The election system is through competition-opposition. In the resolution you will get the dates of the call, what you need to present, the degree required in each case. Then the lists of admitted and excluded will appear. When you start the opposition process and the selection process, the places, dates and times for the next calls that you will have to attend as you approve will be published. You can take different competitions: troops and sailors, military psychology, military nursing, army or air force.
