Security Guard Course

To one day work as a security guard, a series of selection tests called by the Secretary of State for Security must be approved and passed. But before presenting the instances and attending these tests, applicants must do a Security Guard course in authorized training centers with a series of minimum hours that they must comply with.

Training

Security guard training must be given in authorized training centers in cycles of at least XNUMX hours and six school weeks. This training will consist of:

  • Professional training modules. 
  • Y specific add-on modules, for those who want to specialize in explosives.

The training cycles may comprise a maximum percentage of fifty percent of the non-face-to-face or distance training (which helps a lot to study for those people who are combining work or other kinds of studies). Even so, face-to-face teaching is mandatory in the teachings of a technical-professional, instrumental nature, with technical-operational content and shooting and laboratory practices.

For those who pass the training modules and physical tests, the authorized training centers will issue the corresponding diploma or accrediting certificate.

  • Note: Do not forget that the centers that teach this course must be accredited.

Requirements

  1. Be adult.
  2. Have nationality of any of the Member States of the European Union or of a State party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.
  3. Be in possession or in conditions of obtaining the title of Graduate in Compulsory Secondary Education, Technician, or other equivalent for professional purposes, or higher.
  4. Possess psychophysical aptitude in accordance with the provisions of the Royal Decree 2487/1998, of November 20.
  5. Lack of criminal records for intentional crimes.
  6. Not have been convicted for illegitimate interference in the field of protection of the right to honor, personal and family privacy and one's own image, the secrecy of communications or other fundamental rights in the five years prior to the request.
  7. Not having been sanctioned in the previous two or four years for a serious or very serious violation, respectively, in matters of private security.
  8. Not having been separated from the service in the Armed Forces or in the Spanish Security Forces and Bodies or the country of their nationality or origin in the previous two years.
  9. Possess the diploma or certification Proof of having passed the corresponding security guard course.

Tests to pass

First test: Physical fitness

  • Upper Body Power: Suspension push-ups (mens); Medicine ball throw (women and men from 40 years old).
  • Lower Body Power: Vertical jump (men and women).
  • Career (men and women).

Second test: theoretical-practical knowledge

A written reply will be made, within 50 minutes, to a XNUMX-question quiz, with a statement and three answer alternatives of which only one is true.

For the Explosives Guards, in addition, they must respond in fifteen minutes to a twenty-five question questionnaire.
