Skills needed to be more competitive

At school or at home they usually teach us that participating is the important thing, however, as we get older and become adults we see that not only participating is enough, that depending on what things, being competitive is essential.

To get a job, to get an award or recognition, for example, that competitiveness is really necessary. Therefore, today we recommend you to have this series of skills needed to be more competitive. Next, we will not only mention them but we will also explain in detail what we mean by each of them.

What skills do we need to develop to be more competitive?

  1. Have critical thinking. By this we mean that we must analyze and evaluate the consistency of the reasoning that society accepts as true in the context of everyday life. This will help us not to go with the flow of others, to decide what we really want and need and to question everything that is put in front of us, before believing and / or accepting it.
  2. Be more creative. Having creativity is super important to design new questions, new projects and give them a novel touch that has not yet been made or designed by anyone else. That creativity can make our work unique and different from the rest.
  3. Do collaborative work. Competitiveness is not at odds with collaboration. In fact, delegating functions to our colleagues and / or partners is quite beneficial in a common project.
  4. Be smarter emotional. This means putting ourselves in the place of the other, having a certain empathy that helps us to know what the other person wants, what they may need and how we can help them.
  5. Be able to solve complex problems. We are all capable of solving simple problems, however, the more complex a problem becomes, the more difficult it is to solve.

These types of skills should be taught in school, although as things stand, in today's education what reigns supreme are theoretical knowledge versus skills. Let's do something different and teach skills ... At the end of the day, it is mainly these that will solve the real problems of life.
