The Cantabrian consistory of Santander, through the Department of Youth, Employment and New Technologies will train during this year 2011 to 250 unemployed who are registered in the city. The training will be conveyed through 20 courses. With this, and as explained by councilor Samuel Ruiz, it is intended to face the strong demand for training for the unemployed in the city.
Ruiz has also commented that in Cantabria there are 43.000 unemployed of which 13.500 are citizens of Santander. This assumes that Santander residents in a situation of unemployment are the 32% of those in this autonomous community. This for the municipality of Santander is a serious problem that must be solved.
The courses are oriented towards the segments of the labor market where there is the greatest demand, which in the city are of landscape recovery and integration of people with disabilities. Part of the courses are expected to be taught by AMICA. In addition to the courses aimed only at the unemployed, there will also be one that has the audiovisual field as its material and which will be open to all Santanderians.
Some of the courses are experimental type and that they have as object special groups with greater difficulty in finding employment, such as women, the young and the long-term unemployed. These courses include trade, customer service, security guard and administrative specialist in warehouse management.
