Basic guide to participate in an opposition

The first thing an opponent should do would be to be clear about what they want to present, assessing their real possibilities of obtaining a place, the work that they will develop in their future public employment (approved by the opposition) and the situation where their workplace will be located (sometimes it is essential to travel to other regions).

After that, the next step would be to be aware of the publication of the call to fill the places for the desired position. For it the BOE or the Official Gazette of your Community is consulted. Its bases will establish its different phases, these being the following:

The process that we are going to detail below is the model followed by an Autonomous Community (which may vary in which you plan to present yourself) in the development of its selection processes. In this way, once the Public Job Offer has been published and a specific position has been called in the Official Gazette of the Autonomous Community, we find the following Phases:

  • Within presentation of instances to participate in said opposition. In the annex of the call will appear the amount to be paid by way of examination fees, the bank where to make the deposit, the necessary documents and the requirements to participate. The deadline to register, by custom, is usually 20 business days after the publication of the bases in the corresponding Official Gazette.
  • After the previous phase, the «Provisional list of admitted and excluded»To participate in the opposition, having a period of 10 business days to correct errors in those people who do not have all the registration in order.
  • Once the correction of errors has been completed, the «definitive list of admitted«, Proceeding to return the amount of the fees of those people who have finally been excluded. In the same way, next to the definitive list appears the place and date for the first exercise.
  • Phase of conducting tests according to the type of opposition, since each one has a series of different physical, theoretical or practical tests. All of them are usually announced the same day of the previous test, so you must be careful. Between tests, by law, a minimum of 72 hours and a maximum of 45 calendar days must elapse.
  • After the opposition phase, the Court will make public the list of approved in order of score.
  • Those approved must provide, within a maximum time of 20 business days from the publication of approved in the corresponding Official Gazette, the supporting documents that establish compliance with the requirements.
  • Finally we proceed to appointment of officials with a position and the order, if possible, of internal officials or personnel on the stock exchange.
