Review your study techniques

Studygroup relaxing in beanbags while doing school work.

When we start to study seriously, either for a exam specifically, for some oppositions, etc., we try by all means in our power to concentrate not only on passing but also on getting the best grade. Perhaps your will and disposition are good but perhaps how you carry out that study fails, later achieving a failure or a lower grade than you expected. If this normally happens to you, my advice is the following: check your study techniques. And not only the techniques but also the environment in which you study.

Study to pass and get a grade

A study says that the faculties and intelligence of each one only contributes between 50% and 60% when it comes to passing the exam with a grade. The rest, what do you think it is due to?

  • Al effort that each one performs.
  • To some correct study techniques (the technique that can work for your friend doesn't have to work for you).
  • A environmental factors that favor and favor the study.

Study techniques are the strategies we use when it comes to studying. The most typical is the following:

  1. Reading of a topic on the syllabus.
  2. Slower reading underlining the most important of each section.
  3. Outline and / or summary with the most important points of the topic.
  4. Study of that scheme or summary (usually from memory).
  5. Repetition aloud of the topic to strengthen concepts.

This could be said to be the most "ancient" technique used by everyone, but as I said before, it doesn't have to go well for you. Investigate different possible study techniques and work on the one that best suits your way of studying.

If what is failing in you is motivation when it comes to studying: you are always looking for "excuses" not to start doing it, take some time to reflect, and ask yourself the following:

  • Why are you studying?
  • What do you want to achieve with that study?
  • Do you like what you study?
  • Do you have your clear objectives?
  • Do you study in the right time slot?
  • Do you get a good night's rest?

If you see that something is wrong with any of these questions, modify it. You can always improve your performance with study, with determination, effort and willpower, everything can be removed.

Good luck and good luck in the exams!
