How to make our children read more

Today, Libraries Day, We thought it was a very good idea, bring you a series of tips or guidelines to make our children read more and become interested in the world of the reading and literature in general.

If you are a father, mother, tutor, teacher of children, this article interests you especially. We read less and less, more and more bookstores have to close because they don't sell books… Let's stop this from happening!

Children, our most valuable future

Yes. As we say in the title of this paragraph, children are our most valuable future and therefore, their Education. If you want your child or your student to grow up being smart, intelligent, curious and interested in knowing the world around them, yes or yes have to have a book nearby.

Do you know what the pattern is or most important advice and influential for children to be interested in reading? Let adults see us read. If the child grows up close to a person who reads, who often goes to buy books, who asks for a book as a gift for Kings, Christmas or for his birthday, that boy or that girl will become aware almost daily of the importance of books and reading. If, on the other hand, we do not read, the children do not see us do it, if when we are reading they come closer and are interested in what we read and we put them aside and say "Now it's not the moment"That boy or girl will not have the need or the curiosity to read.

Other error that we commit a lot, both parents and teachers, is force them to read. Obligations do not like anyone, and less, the little ones. We have to get them interested in books, keeping them around, advising them which book they might like, telling them a story about a attractive literary character, as may be the case of Harry Potter, which has captivated so many children and not so children by the whole world, ... Those small gestures, which although a priori seem insignificant, can make those children decide to approach the spine of a book, touch it, look inside and stay with it for good.

Today, Libraries DayIt may be the perfect day to go to a bookstore in your city with your son or daughter, who hopefully there are even storytellers or workshops for them and let them fall in love with words. You will do it?
