With the current crisis and the lack of job prospects there are many over 25 who are considering, or have already considered, returning to the classroom, and specifically to university classrooms. On the other hand, many workers, precisely in order not to lose their jobs because they are outdated, return to university to achieve new knowledge that continues to make them attractive at work.

The statistics do not deceive: if during 2007 the number of people over 25 years old who took the selectivity exam were 23.882 people, in last year's call that group reached 28.221. That supposes 18 percentage points more. The profile of these new university students is that of a person who stopped studying many years ago and who want to pass the selectivity to pursue a university degree.

On the other hand, all the statistics that are currently handled on the educational level and unemployment clearly show that the higher the educational level, the lower the possibility of losing your job. Furthermore, being unemployed, university graduates have much better prospects than those who only have primary education.

Knowing, or only intuiting it, many over 25 who did not finish their studies they are now launching to finish what they did not finish, whether they are primary, secondary or even university studies. So even if they do not find a job quickly, they have the possibility of finding it in the future thanks to better formal training and a better qualification.
