Learn to draw

learn to draw

In the teaching career that I studied, I had to give my own subjects that are given in schools in order to later teach the boys and girls what I had learned, logically. Among those subjects (mathematics, literature, English, etc.) was that of art education, which at that time included both drawing and music (this was in the diploma, I suppose that in the degree it will have changed and perhaps they will be taught separately) .

The thing is that my drawing teacher of this subject, stated emphatically, that despite what we believe or make us believe, I also learned how to drawe, that of course, as also happens in the rest of the arts, there are people who are born with more predisposition than others to draw better, but that does not mean that you can learn to draw and be a good draftsman over time and time. practice.

Things you have to be clear about if you want to learn drawing

Here is a list of all those things that you have to be clear about if you want to learn to draw correctly and with determination:

  • You will need a basic material to get started: The basics are cheap and easy to find. It will be enough that in principle you have a graphite pencil (HB), blank paper, pencil sharpener and eraser. As you learn and progress, you should expand this "artistic arsenal" with colored pencils, markers, blurrs, and so on.
  • You must be very persistent: It is not worth leaving it at the first change. You will have to crumple a lot of sheets (if you buy them recycled, Mother Nature will not suffer so much), and you will have to start over and over again, but as in everything, perseverance should be far above discouragement.
  • Start by drawing simple things: Still lifes with their silhouettes and shadows will come, ok? Start by drawing simple things, with easy lines, ... Drawings that are very familiar to you, geometry, etc.
  • Practice the easy: From time to time you have to practice with things as simple as making straight lines, curves, steps, etc., and filling in this seemingly "absurd" way, folios and folios. It is not as absurd as it seems, since this technique will help us to better control our strokes.
  • Little by little you will go gaining confidence and therefore your drawings will be better and better and more complex: You will draw pictures of things that are around the house, such as an armchair, a lamp or a mixer. The next thing will be to make sketches of landscapes. Then you will try portraits ... Little by little you will learn, but above all by practicing.

And remember: You never stop learning!
