With what method do you study best?

Study It is something that not all of us are good at, or at least not under the same conditions. While some prefer to study at home, others do better in the library; while some prefer to have a source of sound or "noise" nearby, others need absolute silence to do so.

On the other hand, to all this, we have to add the study method that we are better off. There are those who prefer to study with diagrams, others who prefer to make notes as a summary, and others, who nevertheless adore concept maps. And you, which of these study methods or techniques do you prefer? Below we see the most notable similarities and differences between them.

Similarities between schematics, concept maps, and summaries

The main similarity that we find between these three study techniques is that all three have as their objective the internalization and assimilation of content by the student.

Another similarity to highlight between concept maps, diagrams and summaries, is that all three have to be done after similar steps: speed reading, slow reading comprehension and underlining of ideas important. After these first three steps, the student would choose between making a concept map, an outline or a summary with these highlighted and underlined data of the topic. The last step is also common in all of them: the study and memorization by the student of the important ideas of the topic.

Differences between schematics, concept maps, and summaries

The main difference between these three study methods lies above all in the number of words highlighted in each of them. In fact, the ideal for a complete and good study of the subject would be to carry out these three steps: first an outline, then a summary and finally a conceptual map; but usually due to lack of time, we opt for just one.

  • El conceptual map It only has as words those underlined in the subject and of all of them, the most important. It is used to get a fairly general idea of what the subject touches and to see especially the subsections or categories that fall within each main idea.
  • El schemeOn the other hand, in addition to the words highlighted in the concept map, it unites these ideas with a series of links. Thus contributing a bit of logic and sense to what is exposed in it.
  • And finally we meet the summaries, which are much more detailed and provide more precise, but also greater, information on the subject of study.

And you, which of these three study methods do you prefer?

Hello, well you see, I'm a little fed up with high school and at the rate I'm going I don't take it off, so I'm thinking of getting into a module, I've seen a body technician and then I would see if I continue with the degree superior, but what I do not want is to do something that is useless, to me this module seems quite good.

Good to give me opinions of some kind.

    Thanks and regards!
