Santa Cruz de Tenerife aims to hire 100 people at risk of social exclusion

These contracts will be carried out with 200.000 euros from the Social Action Project to which the consistories of the Island of Tenerife have access. Those 100 contracts will have a duration of between 3 and 4 months with a salary of 645 euros. All contracts will be for people who are at risk of social exclusion.

The Ministry of Welfare, Health and Dependency of the Cabildo of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Aurelio Abreu, its owner, considers that despite the meager budget for hiring, it is a good action to ensure that people on the verge of social exclusion can access a job and subsequently their corresponding unemployment benefit.

The main beneficiaries of the employment plan are the long-term unemployed and families where all members are unemployed. In addition to this employment plan, thanks to the other town councils of the island se has managed to hire 50 people at risk of social exclusion and it is expected to hire another 2013 people in 50 with contracts of between 3 and 4 months.

The budget of 200.000 euros it is distributed among the 31 consistories that the island of Tenerife has. The budget of each city council depends on the population it has on the census and the unemployment rate that it carries. The minimum that each municipality can access is 20% of the fund.

In each of the demarcations it is the social services that carry out the selection of those people who will benefit from the contracts attending to their socio-labor situation, having preference in them those who are in a more delicate situation.
