In times of economic crisis, studying in a public university It is an impossible mission for many people who have financial difficulties and cannot complete their university studies. The difficulties in accessing a scholarship are also increasing. For this reason, new initiatives are emerging that aim to provide future opportunities for young people.
One of these initiatives is to sponsor university students, a proposal that has been made by Adelaida de la Calle, rector of the Malaga University and president of the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).
Adelaida de la Calle has made a social appeal with the aim of awakening the public awareness in those people who have economic possibilities and can support young students to have a future at a professional level. It is about creating a sponsorship bag with the aim that no student is left without access to the University of Malaga.
There are people interested in collaborating in this context. What the sponsors hope is that the young people are applied and really take advantage of the help received. This initiative has already generated a response in other universities, such as the University of Oviedo, whose rector Vincent Gotor, has stated: "It is important in these times to sponsor people who do not have financial means." The rector does not consider this initiative a gesture of charity but a commitment to the talent of others.
