We acknowledge the efforts, but in due measure

Efforts

One of the things they have always told us is that, in the event that our children have positive results, we recognize them and give them a prize. Something that makes them understand that this is fine, and that they should continue down that path. However, it seems that these types of actions are not completely successful, but have to be carried out with a small limitation.

Obviously, when good grades are obtained, denote a certain recognition it is always good. But, of course, we don't have to go overboard either. We simply have to make it noticeable, but with small limitations. The fact that good results have been achieved does not mean that the end of the road has been successfully reached. Quite the opposite. You have to keep working so that things keep going well.

Our recommendation is simple, but obvious: every time the children get good grades (either in the newsletter or in the exams) act accordingly. Recognize the merit they have and offer them an award that invites them to continue working to maintain the results. But, of course, don't go overboard on it. It is one thing to give them an award, and another to give them everything they want. They could fall, again, into the wrong hands.

The same should happen with other studies and with work. When we do something well, a little recognition always helps to move forward with more force. In the end, that shows a lot, especially since we will always be looking forward to those good results. If we do a good job why not get a small reward?
